Flight Instructor Course ![]() Dodgen Aircraft's experienced staff is also capable of training you for a Flight Instructor and/or an Instrument Flight Instructor Certificate. An individual who wishes to earn a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) or Instrument Instructor (CFII) Certificate must be at least 18 years of age and hold either a Commercial Pilot Certificate or an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate. Most candidates will need approximately 15 hours of dual instruction as Pilot In Command in the category and class of aircraft that is appropriate to the Flight Instructor rating sought and 15 hours of oral instruction to get ready for the two written tests and the practical flight test with the FAA Examiner (to be flown from the right seat). In most cases our candidates perform all of their training in our Piper Arrow. This helps the candidate to only need to learn one aircraft for their checkride along with fulfilling the requirement to take their test in a complex aircraft. For our Instrument Instructor candidates, most of our candidates train in our Cessna 172's or Piper Warriors. These are all instrument certified aircraft and are cost effective for instrument training.
FAA Checkride - No charge if taken with the FAA FSDO (Flight Standards District Office). If the test is taken with a Designated Pilot Examiner a standard examination fee may apply. Back |
