Sod and Grass Runway Use Policies:

Dodgen Aircraft has established the following airports as "Approved Sod and Grass Runway Airports":

K2C5Almena (Paw Paw)
K9C2Athens
KOEBColdwater
K9D9Hastings
K26WNapoleon
K4NONewmans Field (Kalamazoo)
KLWASouth Haven
KC43Sunfield

Any and all other use of sod or grass runways must be approved by Dodgen Aircraft. This is not an indication that others will not be approved, simply that it must be looked at and determined based upon the runway type, length, condition, and aircraft being used. In many cases, these runways will be approved, but it is much easier for us to approve them on a case by case basis than to try to set up a guideline for a blanket type of approach.

Please feel free to contact us if there is a field that you would like to go to that is a sod or grass runway that is not listed and we will definitely consider it.

*At no time shall the Arrow or Seneca be used on sod or grass runways.
**No solo-student pilot operations on sod runways are approved.
***Be aware that sod and grass runways are subject to changing ground conditions based on mowing schedules, wetness, or other maintenance needs. The pilot in command is responsible for verifying field conditions are safe prior to landing.
****No sod or grass operations are allowed when snow is present.
