Weather information is crucial to any pilot. Without accurate and up-to-date information, no flight could be considered safely. Below you will find a variety of sources linked to obtain weather information for flying. Also listed are a few other informational items for the pilot to help learn about and analyze weather for flight experiences you will undertake.

Aviation Weather and Current Flight Information:

FAA Temporary Flight Restrictions - This site provides graphical and textual descriptions of temporary flight restrictions for pilots knowledge. (http://tfr.faa.gov)

Weather Tap - Weather Tap is a very strong and useful current weather site. This site is not free, but it is highly up to date and offers detailed and accurate information for a pilot. Includes METARs, SIGMETs, AIRMETs, highly current radar, Surface Analysis and Prognosis charts, and much much more.

GTE Duats - Duats is an aviation weather information site. Also at this site is a very useful flight planner that will plan out many flights for fuel/time/heading calculations. This is only available to pilots (or student pilots) and is highly recommended for pilots to use for their flight experience. It will provide much of the weather information that is needed for planning flights not in the vicinity of a pilot's home airport.

NOAA FAA Weather - A weather site updated regularly and provided by the National Oceanic and Astmospheric Association.

Upper Midwest Aviation Weather - This site provides a wide varieyt of weathe rsources for the Upper Midwest region including TAF's, METAR's, forecast weather, and much more.

Intellicast - A general weather site that provides good radar facilities and general outlook for weather conditions for areas.

Aviation Digital Data Service - A weather source provided for pilots and their unique weather interpretation needs. Includes METAR's, TAF's, Turbulence outlooks, AIRMETs, SIGMETs, PIREPs and much more.
